Stories
The club Books & Candy drive ended on October 29. The Ladies brought in over 600 pounds of Halloween candy, and the Gents brought in over 525 books. So who wins? The Ladies! Gents will be required to sing "You Are So Beautiful" at the Christmas Party on December 10! But really, the children win, as the SBI Halloween Trick or Treat will be loaded with treats, and the Little Free Library will have a good start with books this summer.
Our club is joining clubs from across Zone 21b and Zone 27 in helping show how much Rotary cares this year! Let's show everyone in our community that Rapid City Rotary has Heart!
A small group of fellow Rotarians met at Feeding South Dakota facility Tuesday, October 13 to pack backpacks for school children.
Rotarians contributed Halloween candy for the SBI Trick or Treat day. And a great number of children's books were donated for the SBI Little Free Library by the end of October. Keep the books coming...

Join clubs from across Zone 21b and Zone 27 in helping show how much Rotary cares this year! Let's show everyone in our communities across the nation that Rotary Has Heart!
Rotary Has Heart is the over-arching theme each Rotary club can use to promote the work being done in your community. By using a common theme, and common social media, clubs are able to share their good work with others. Together, we can all help our friends and neighbors see the great work being done each day by thousands of Rotarians.
You can use an existing program, or develop a new service project to highlight how your club is showing heart in your community. This is your chance to help build better publicity across the entire Rotary world by working together to promote the good work we all do each and every day.
We need to talk about what Rotary does, and make sure we use a unified voice in telling our story. Please use the downloadable jpg images and RotaryHeart news release, and adapt it for use in your club. Then, send your news stories, photos, and reports of media placement to me so we can tally the results. Email to Linda4Rotary@me.com

Thursday, November 5 is our Club Foundation meeting. Foundation chair, Norm Peterson will present the program about the important work that our highly rated Foundation does around the world. Linda will demonstrate the easy way to give on Rotary Direct.

Have you made your donation this year? If we could just sign up more members for EREY and/or Rotary Direct, we could announce on Saturday, November 7 in Mitchell at the District Foundation Day!

On Saturday, November 7, The District is holding the second annual Foundation/Membership/Rotaract Seminar. We need to ask our Rotaract students if they need a ride to the event. Who will volunteer?

When your email, phone or address changes, please remember to change it on your Rotary member profile! Log on to the club website, go to your member profile and edit and save the changes. If you are not able to do this, please alert Jerie or Linda who can make the changes for you. This is important, if you wish to receive the club bulletin, email updates, and other Rotary events/news.
Troy Kilpatrick, club member and Executive Director of the Journey Museum, encourages you to click on the link below so you can see the recognition we have provided Rotary for your support of us through the generous grant!      Foundation recognition points are awarded to donors (clubs or individual Rotarians) who contribute to The Rotary Foundation through the Annual Programs Fund or PolioPlus, or as a sponsor portion to a Foundation grant. Donors receive one Foundation recognition point for every U.S. dollar contributed to these funds. Contributions to the Permanent Fund are not eligible.
You may check your own status by logging into MyRotary and looking at your donor history. Donors can extend Foundation recognition points to others to help them become or to name them as a Paul Harris Fellow or Multiple Paul Harris Fellow. Foundation recognition points belong to the original donor until the donor’s death, or until the donor uses the points (the surviving spouse of a Major Donor may also use the points).
Foundation recognition points may be used for Paul Harris Fellow (for individuals) Certificate of Appreciation (for company/organization), Multiple PHF, and help your club reach or even surpass its Annual Programs Fund (APF) goal, as well as achieve 100% Paul Harris Fellow recognition. They may also be awarded posthumously.
